Who this is for

Multiple myeloma is a cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow. Both approved products target BCMA (B-cell maturation antigen), a protein expressed on plasma cells, and are approved for fourth-line-or-later use: patients who have progressed after at least three prior treatment regimens, including at least one proteasome inhibitor (e.g., bortezomib) and one immunomodulatory drug (e.g., lenalidomide).

What makes myeloma CAR-T different

Because myeloma patients have usually been through multiple prior regimens, bone marrow reserve and overall fitness are assessed carefully before apheresis. Bridging therapy to control disease during the manufacturing window is common and is built into the treatment plan and quotation from the outset, not added as a surprise cost later.

Life after infusion

Most patients remain in China for several weeks of monitoring after infusion before traveling home with a detailed treatment passport and a follow-up schedule coordinated with their home hematologist, including monitoring for infection risk during the period of immune recovery.
